Week 48

"And the songbirds keep singing

Like they know the score

And I love you, I love you, I love you

Like never before."

~ Fleetwood Mac

Rest in peace Christine McVie.

Autumn here is putting on a show with rain, wind, and colorful leaves, everywhere. I love it!

The sunsets and sunrises have been on fire. This is the most wonderful time of year - for all the colors and skyscapes.

Our street after a little rain and wind.

This is a morning walk, mid-autumn.

This flaming canopy is my favorite.

This trestle again, from a different angle -with a train on it!

Sing it with me - "The sky... is burnin"

Adult beverages before a company holiday party.

Got to hang out with this cute couple at the party.

This courtyard reminded me of Spain.

So pretty. They have some really good coffee in the lobby just to the left of the staircase.

The morning after. After the rain and the party.

Week 11

“Year by year the complexities of this spinning world grow more bewildering and so each year we need all the more to seek peace and comfort in the joyful simplicities.”

~ Woman’s Home Companion, December 1935

My joyful simplicities this week...

This boy has been extra sweet lately.
He and I read a set of "Science for Babies" board books to his sister and learned a few things.
We learned that scientists use balls to explain many things about mass, flow, gravity, physics,
and ROCKET SCIENCE. We are excited, and now he wants to "fly" rockets when he grows up.
Oh, I believe you will, Grandson, and move mountains too.

Late winter cloudscape. Always look up - especially when there are clouds.

Rite Aid ranunculus.

I see flowers, I stop and shoot.

Catching my morning light 😍

Art therapy!
This is my first attempt at Neurographic art in Procreate on my iPad.

We got some rain on the last day of winter.

One lonely dandelion in the rain.

First day of spring! I took my bike for a spin, and it didn't hurt my arthritic knee.
YES! My usual walks are not an option right now, so this is super exciting.

Sally's roses this week.

Today...

We had Jesse, Bri, Logan, and Paisley over to celebrate Mike's 60th Birthday a day early.
There is nothing better than having the kids over to make it festive.
We all had a fun time visiting.
Logan made a plan for a sleepover here later this week. His idea.

Today...

I guess I'm recovering from consuming too much food and wine yesterday. I have no ideas about anything. I've got a little over a month to go on this 365 project, almost to the finish line. While it's been fun, and I love doing this, some days it's a challenge.

Today...

When I went out for a walk this afternoon, it was completely overcast. By the time I got to this pond, five, maybe ten minutes later, the clouds had started to clear. I seriously can't get enough of this light and the leaves and the weather. Afternoons are becoming the best time to get outside right now, and I'm all over it.

Today...

I worked on my 2021 calendars. Trying a new printer and different format this year due to cost and wanting more control. I was having so much fun working on this project; I had to stop and make myself get out for a walk. I'm happy I did because I still cannot get enough of all the color out there.

Today...

My brother Brad would have turned 64. He's been gone for almost twenty-four years. Sometimes I imagine what it would be like if he was in a coma all these years and just woke up. He was a such a techno nerd that he would probably be blown away by how far we've come. We would have to watch the 'new' Star Trek, Star Wars, Mission Impossible, and Godzilla movies together. When I saw them, I couldn't help but think of how much he would enjoy them. We used to watch the Star Trek show together when we were kids. He and I watched an old Godzilla movie when he was bedridden a week or so before he passed.

He'd be amazed at how much his son looks like him and even has the same mannerisms. I think he and all his nieces and nephews would probably get along great.

I could see him and Tristan geeking out together.

I'm grateful that he visits me in my dream every once in a while.

I miss him.
