Sunday evening
March 30th - I had to get to a hill to capture the sky on my way home from the grocery store. Whenever there a pretty clouds or a sunset or sunrise I feel this need to capture them and I want to get to the closest high point to do so. I keep telling Hubs I need a platform on our roof for when the sky is on fire, so to speak. Thankfully there are these spots nearby. This is from the parking lot of the high school Hubs and all three of our kids graduated.
Saturday night
March 29th - A very rainy Saturday. Yes, when it's raining outside, thats a good time to get chores done but all I wanted to do was curl up by the fire, read and take a nice long nap. No time for that, our best friends were coming into town for an overnight visit. We had to take them out for Sushi and Sake. It's far too long between visits with them and we had a lot of catching up to do.

My babies ❤️
We are so sad to leave but so glad we got to spend a long weekend together. ❤️, a photo by Diane Meade-Tibbetts on Flickr.
Monday, March 24th - My daughter is an amazing person and an awesome mother. She loves her family and it shows by how healthy and happy they all are. Just look at how beautiful!! I am impressed and inspired by her.
We had a fun visit - too short of course and oh so hard to leave. Thankfully they are coming to visit in June for two weeks.
Legos. Everywhere.
Sunday, March 23rd - We love Lego's. Tristan received a few sets for his birthday, I put together one of them. Now I know I can follow directions, when I read them. He wanted help with this one but really I think he just wanted me to sit with him while he put it together because he was doing it all himself.

This place is very dangerous.
This place is very dangerous. Went in for one little thing and, well, we all know how that goes., a photo by Diane Meade-Tibbetts on Flickr.
March 20th - I went in for one little thing and, well, we all know how that goes.I love this store! After this one, I stopped into Barnes and Noble for a few things. Another place that is trouble but oh so wonderful. Yes, some serious retail therapy going on.

It's my Friday! It's also time to mow these weeds again
March 19th - Another super busy day at work but I got all I needed to get done and was out of there by 5. Now it's on to my LONG weekend. I so need this right now. AND I get to go see my GRAND-BABIES! I can't even begin to express how excited I am about that.
Now to figure out how to post photos from the Blogger app to here.

It's been almost two years. I want to go again.
March 18th - New Zealand was amazing and we still wonder if it was a dream because we went there and then we were back and life has flown by since. Yes, I, we, need to go again. I want to linger a bit more and take more photos and go to Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound on the last tour of the day in small boat. And take a helicopter ride out to a glacier.

Why did the Turkey cross the road?
March 17 - This lonely hen has been wandering around our office since last week. Hubs says she is looking of a place to nest. I wonder if the gobblers are going to show up soon. I hope so.

Blood oranges under glass
March 16th - After I finished up filing our taxes and cleaning out the refrigerator, I got to play with my big girl camera. My inspiration was these glass canisters I bought the day before and the beautiful Blood oranges I had in my fruit bin. I LOVE the color of these. I'm thinking I really need to paint a wall or a piece of furniture this color. I also need to be playing more with my 7D. And maybe put my iPhone down for a bit. Nah, who am I kidding, I have a love affair with that thing.

What a beautiful day!
March 15th - We went for a late afternoon hike up in the hills. It was a short easy hike and oh so pretty. I love being up in the hills. The quiet, the breeze, the green hills (for a short while), the birds, the turkeys and the deer. I really do need to get up there more often.
My dream is to have a house on a ridge where I can see the ocean on one side and mountains on the other.

Red-shouldered Hawk
Red-shouldered Hawk. In my front yard this afternoon. With my other camera., a photo by Diane Meade-Tibbetts on Flickr.
March 14th - In my front yard this afternoon. With my other camera.
I came home to grab something for lunch. As I was standing in the kitchen I heard the familiar call and just knew a hawk was close. I stepped out on the front porch and sure enough, he was perched right there in my sycamore tree. I took one photo with my phone just in case he flew away while I was grabbing my DSLR. I couldn't find my 300mm lens so had to settle for my 24-105mm. He sat still for two photos and was gone when I turned the camera to get another angle. He hangs out around here all the time so I spent the next fifteen minutes looking for my 300mm lens so I can have it at the ready next time.
On a side note: Flickr is changing again and I am NOT happy about it. Looks like I will be unable to easily share my photos from there to here as of March 25th. So, I may need to look for other options as I need it to be smooth and easy due to time constraints. Maybe I need to move all my stuff to Google platforms and dump the whole Yahoo experience.

Today's reflection.
March 13 - I like the word reflection and I love large, tall buildings with lots of glass. And I am enjoying driving our new "grocery getter" for many reasons. One being that I'm sitting up higher so I can SEE more. Sitting at stop lights is much more interesting now.

Flammable
March 11 - “To know ahead of time what you’re looking for means you’re then only photographing your own preconceptions, which is very limiting, and often false." - Dorothea Lange
I saw this "zombie car" while out running errands and decided to circle back after to capture it. I really never know what I'm looking for to photograph. I'm always looking. I love when I find images. To me, that is what photography is all about. Looking, seeing, feeling, playing....

Wanna color?
March 10th - I have this "slight" addiction to writing/drawing instruments, paper...basically office supply, stationery, and card stores. And then there are book stores! Now that I'm thinking about it, having a little shop that sells these treasures and more would be fun. I've thought this many times before and then the days get so busy, I forget all about my dreams...
On another note - DST can suck it!

March 8th - Went to a party last night at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum. Beautiful cars, lots of free alcohol, delicious food and some really nice people. We didn't know any of them. Hubs just started working for the company two months ago so we are the newbies. The company is celebrating thirty years in business and clearly they are doing quite well. Nice move hubs!

I love Friday!
March 7th - Yes, I do love Friday and this one is at the end of a long busy week. I like that the sun is coming up earlier as well but that is going to change this weekend. Why is Daylight Savings time so early this year? Or is it normal and I'm confused? Probably the latter. The sun will set later now, there is that.
White. Everywhere.
March 6th - All the trees in the parking lot at work are exploding with white blooms. Then it will snow - those white petals will fall in piles looking like snow drifts.

"There will be noise."
"There will be noise." They didn't say anything about shaking, rattling and rolling. Construction is happening here at work. Feels like earthquakes all day long., a photo by Diane Meade-Tibbetts on Flickr.
Yes, I know, it will all be wonderful and new when it is done and yes, I'm thankful for my job.

"Grocery getter"
March 4th - Long twelve hour day at work.
This is all I have for today and it was taken last week. I did take a photo yesterday but it was of the clock while I was warming up the truck to go home at 7:40 pm. I wasn't feeling that photo so I posted this one instead.
It's been a couple of super busy days at work. It's all good. Yes, I'm very tired from training on a new module and still processing a heavy work load AND I'm grateful to have a job.
Now, can I go back to bed for a few days?

Does this have something to do with Monday?
Why do they call a gathering of Vultures a Venue? if the sun was out they would all have their wings spread out, drying off.
About an hour before this they were not there and the sun was peeking through the clouds showing off another beautiful sunrise.

Proud birds
Another from March 2nd.
This is my reward for going to the grocery story. Pretty flowers to capture just outside our local Trader Joes.
These always remind me of when I was eleven. Mom and I were home recovering from a serious car accident when there was a delivery of this long gold box. Inside were several stems of Birds of Paradise. I've loved them ever since.
Sycamore and willow
Sunday, March 2nd.
Through the sunroof of the "Grocery getter". It rained all day and finally cleared up when we decided to go get our grocery shopping done. This reminds me of an impressionistic paining.

Testing - March 1
Hubs and I went for a drive yesterday in our new "Grocery getter" that we bought last weekend. I have to resist my urge to go on about how I didn't want a car payment and yet I still signed the paperwork and now I will have to work until I die...can you hear me whining? But it's soooo pretty and we really do need it and GOD it is a lot of money.
ANYWAY, the drive was BEAUTIFUL! The clouds, the green hills, the music, lunch, meeting the "Lamb walker", learning some history about the town of Tomales, getting away for the afternoon to the coast, making pictures - just what we needed. Below is just a few photos I took. Must work on the others, once the tax returns are filed.
