Week 31

We got real rain on Monday! I loved just hearing it coming down and the sound of cars driving by through the puddles. Our new (replaced) library opened and I couldn't wait to visit. It's gorgeous! And Mr. Logan celebrated his 6th birthday with a pool party at his Aunt Sue's.

Rode my bike to the park and back before these beauties opened up
and blessed us with sweet, sweet rain.

Too cool for Brother's shoes.

Library selfie.
I may have to donate to the library so I can get my name on one of these pretty tiles.

If you're looking for me, I'll be here.

Art in their jammies.

My boys, checking out the view from Aunt Sue's beautiful backyard.

This Birthday fish spent most of the day in the pool with all his friends.

Happy Birthday!
Shark Cupcake cake by Lori.

Fresh, juicy summer peach. Yum!

Week 11

“Year by year the complexities of this spinning world grow more bewildering and so each year we need all the more to seek peace and comfort in the joyful simplicities.”

~ Woman’s Home Companion, December 1935

My joyful simplicities this week...

This boy has been extra sweet lately.
He and I read a set of "Science for Babies" board books to his sister and learned a few things.
We learned that scientists use balls to explain many things about mass, flow, gravity, physics,
and ROCKET SCIENCE. We are excited, and now he wants to "fly" rockets when he grows up.
Oh, I believe you will, Grandson, and move mountains too.

Late winter cloudscape. Always look up - especially when there are clouds.

Rite Aid ranunculus.

I see flowers, I stop and shoot.

Catching my morning light 😍

Art therapy!
This is my first attempt at Neurographic art in Procreate on my iPad.

We got some rain on the last day of winter.

One lonely dandelion in the rain.

First day of spring! I took my bike for a spin, and it didn't hurt my arthritic knee.
YES! My usual walks are not an option right now, so this is super exciting.

Sally's roses this week.

Week 10

I know it's still winter, but spring is here in Northern California, and it is glorious! The trees and flowers are blooming, the Bees are buzzing, and the birds - well, the birds are always here, and that's a good thing.

I finally got to see my grandkids after three weeks of isolation. I swear they have grown a couple of inches and gotten even more brilliant.

I did a lot of shooting and had to whittle down my images for the week to just ten from a gagillion. Ha! Sometimes it feels like that many, and I love it.

Onward.

Cooper's Hawk looking for a snack.

The bees are so happy!

It's not easy getting these two to sit still together.

Homemade goodies I ordered from an amazing artist in Maine

Ready to go to school.

Lunchtime.

Macro rose petals. I love how this feels.

This one smells divine.

Yep, more roses

A male Downy Woodpecker. They are always watching.

Today...

I got to spend the morning with my grandbabies. These two love each other and it is so special to watch them together.
It only took me about forty shots to get this on, just one, where they are both looking at me at the same time.

Today...

I had the pleasure of spending a couple hours with my Logan.
He sent me a voice text before he came over..."we can play with toys, then watch tv, then have some food and then after, we can have a snack..."
We did it all, of course. I can't say no to this face.
I can't begin to explain how much joy this boy brings to my life.
The same goes for all my grandchildren. I just get to see this one more than the others, for now.
Grandparenting really is the best thing ever.

Today...

We spent the day with the 4T's.
Have I mentioned how much I love hanging out with our kids and grandkids?
The only way this day could have been better was if all our kids and grandkids could have been there with us.

Today...

I met Bri, Logan, Paisley, and Bailee at the park. It's been seven months since any of us have been to a playground.
I got to hold Miss Paisley and Logan got to run and play to his heart's content.
There was a moment where Bri and I watched, in awe, as Logan and his new "friend" took turns pushing each other on the swings.
There is hope for our future in these children.

Today...
Found some much-needed color in my backyard this morning.
Jesse, Bri, Logan, and Paisley were over today!
I got to hold that baby.
Logan and I had an art date while Dad and Mom took Paisley for her two-week checkup.
We played with clings, stickers, lots of stickers, made a Pumpkin, colored pumpkins, painted with dot markers, and watercolor. So fun!
Jesse and Bri came back with lunch so they hung out for a while.
Jesse reinstalled our office A/C.
Chatted with my Sister.
Roasted sausage and vegetables for dinner. And wine.

Today...
I woke up.
The sky was clear of smoke.
I have money to buy food.
My CynCyn is here.
My family is healthy.
I have a new granddaughter.
We got to have dinner with Jesse, Bri, Logan, and Paisley tonight.
We celebrated Bri's 30th birthday.
Tri-tip, pasta salad, ambrosia, and wine for dinner.
Strawberry cheesecake for dessert. With candles of course.
It really was a beautiful evening.
And this boy!

Rest in power RBG

Today...
Going to Jesse and Bri's for breakfast at 7:30 am.
Jesse made us bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns on his outdoor grill.
We ate outside on the deck.
Hanging out, showing CynCyn the house, playing hide and seek with Logan, sitting on the front porch, talking to the neighbors, and swinging in the neighbor's yard.
A Target run with CynCyn.
In-N-Out for lunch.
Watching "Logan Lucky."
Chicken, potato salad, fresh tomatoes from my garden, and watermelon for dinner.
