Week 46

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
but it sure makes the rest of you lonely,"
~ Charles M. Schulz

The Diaz Family departed at the "butt-crack" of dawn Wednesday. It's so quiet and I already miss them and all their spirit. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of photos this week as I was busy enjoying the moments before they had to leave.

Having a snack while waiting for bother to get out of school.

Our last meal together before they fly back home.

These kids had so much fun together.

Our new photographer. Yay!!

Thursday sunrise.

Feasting American Finches.

I couldn't decide which photo I liked best.
The movie quote that keeps coming to mind here is...
"Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full."

Week 40

In to the great wide open
Under the skies of blue...
~ Tom Petty

We went camping on the coast! Finally. There is nothing like being on the edge of the continent with the
wind in my hair, the waves crashing on the rocks, and the endless view - unless there's fog. Even the fog was beautiful! It was worth the short trip and very much needed. I have hundreds of photos that won't all fit here so, here is a sampling.

An Anise Swallowtail entertaining me while we were stopped on the side of the road.

All set up just before sunset. View from the door of our trailer.

We didn't get any epic sunsets due the fog bank off-shore.

Picked up a few of these awesome sturdy mugs.

The view of our campsite from the cliffs.

Standing on the edge of the continent.

Had to get an "Usie".

He doesn't want me taking his picture.

Headed down to the cove for some exploring.

The ice plant colors during sunset!

She was not ready to leave and wasn't moving from that spot.

These two are too cute.

They found "chairs" to sit in.

Rock climbing.

I asked him to pose like a super hero. I'm not sure what he was going for here.

The mouth of the Russian River.

Week 32

I've been getting outside in the mornings as much as possible to help balance my circadian rhythms. It feels wonderful and might actually be helping with my energy and sleep.

It's that time of year. Back-to-school...already?? Logan started first grade on Wednesday and celebrated his birthday with his new classmates Friday. Then we all went to the Zoo with him on Sunday.

Notes from the Universe via my cup of tea.

Grounding.
Lush lawn by Jesse - kept this way with recycled water.

Green Heron and two ducks.
Once again, I wished I had brought my DSLR in my bike basket.

Like me, she wants to play with ALL of the colors.

I found Dahlia's on our Saturday afternoon trip to Lowes.

Grizzly Bear or North American Brown Bear? I think they are the same.
I say Grizzly.

Giraffes are amazing creatures.

Meet Lucha the Jaguar and oh so pretty.

The majestic Bald Eagle.

I'm still looking for the photo I took of him in this same exact spot on his second birthday.
Pretty sure he wasn't as tall.

"Do this?"
We tried to get her to spread her 'wings' too.

Mr six-year-old had a busy, fun birthday week.

Week 26

While the world burns…Oh, I mean let me get this out of the way.

I made this banner for my July Facebook cover photo. I like to change them up every month even if it’s the only thing I post and this one needed to be shared. I also set up a fundraiser on Facebook for Planned Parenthood for my birthday. It ends on the 16th and I’m hoping to get $500 that I plan to match.

In the meantime, I had a wonderful 60th birthday celebration.

Camping, boating, tubing, mimosas, food, drinks, music, family, fun, and a “hitchhiker” we picked up from the shore. I had no idea who the woman was for a few seconds and I want to always remember seeing her, waving champagne bottles, and smiling at us…our Dr. CynCyn flew out from Florida to surprise me and spend the week with us. Excellent job family! I love you all, past the sky.

A view of Putah Creek from our campsite.

Putah Creek at sunset.

Putah Creek at Sunrise on my birthday.

Family ❤️

It was as fun as it looks!
It was a challenge to get sharp focus of these priceless faces from a moving boat,
still, I'm so glad I brought my camera.

The perfect birthday weather.

Week 24

June 13 - 19 everyday life and things...

Glitter is so pretty! I say, sprinkle this shit everywhere.

She's calling me Gammy these days.
She can call me whatever she wants. 😍

Morning sun salutations with this sweet, sleepy-faced boy.

He asked me to take his picture to show off his kick
before his Martial Arts class.

 Four-time NBA Champions!!
These guys are phenomenal and the reason I now love watching basketball.

I played with a fun noise setting in Procreate on my iPad to get this gradient
Rainbows ALWAYS!

Melting pony beads in cookie cutters on the BBQ to make suncatchers.
The more I play, the more ideas and fun I have.

Father's Day kayaking with my man.

We watched from our kayaks as this Osprey dove for fish over and over.

It looks like this Great Blue Heron is trying to scare me away.
He was actually not happy with another Heron getting in his personal space.
