Week 37

"I am the intentional creator of my human experience."
~ SelfHealers Circle

Bike rides, clouds, walks, Great Horned Owls, hanging out with the grandkids, and even some rain.
It was a good week.

Downtown PH pond.
That sky though!

Our City Hall.

Sidewalk Sunflower

Another cute yard in Martinez.

No power here for about seven hours while they replaced a power pole.
That's an impressive amount of equipment for one pole.

It's the time of year for backyard sunrises. Yay!

Second breakfast.

Okay, this is a really bad image from my iPhone of a Great Horned Owl we came
upon while on a Saturday evening walk. It was being harassed by a Cooper's Hawk,
and we were able to watch it for a while, once the hawk left.
We believe this is one of two that have been calling from the trees in the creek behind our house.
In the middle of the night, we can hear them talking to each other and they lull us to sleep.

Painted this one a little differently. Still, so much fun!

We had a very nice rainy Sunday.

Week 31

We got real rain on Monday! I loved just hearing it coming down and the sound of cars driving by through the puddles. Our new (replaced) library opened and I couldn't wait to visit. It's gorgeous! And Mr. Logan celebrated his 6th birthday with a pool party at his Aunt Sue's.

Rode my bike to the park and back before these beauties opened up
and blessed us with sweet, sweet rain.

Too cool for Brother's shoes.

Library selfie.
I may have to donate to the library so I can get my name on one of these pretty tiles.

If you're looking for me, I'll be here.

Art in their jammies.

My boys, checking out the view from Aunt Sue's beautiful backyard.

This Birthday fish spent most of the day in the pool with all his friends.

Happy Birthday!
Shark Cupcake cake by Lori.

Fresh, juicy summer peach. Yum!

Week 19

We had some bipolar weather this week and it was beautiful out there. We're still feeding baby birds in the backyard and now Lizards have found the stash. The Warriors made it into the Western Conference Finals! All is well here, but yes, I have a whole lot of words and feelings about all that is happening in the world right now to get into here.

Just keep swimming.

This Black-capped Chickadee will take a mealworm right out of the dish when
we hold it out to him.

Feeding time for the baby Phoebe.
I've lost count of how many we have now.

Post power nap shenanigans.

I think this is the full bloom for these this season.

Meet Bella.
My new victim houseplant to replace Fern who suffered a slow overwatered demise.

My first attempt at a digital faux batik painted Sea Turtle.
I'm currently working on my second one. Practice, practice, practice...makes better.

Hubs and I went on a morning bike ride with these two cuties.

A four-foot Pacific Gopher snake crossed our path.

Having a snack and hanging out in the back of the pick-up after our ride.

Week 12

Week 12 wasn't super busy but the week I'm currently typing this and posting in has been a doozy. All is well, it is what it is, which is LIFE. Week 13 will probably be late too. It IS my blog, that no one is seeing anyway so, no worries. Onward.

Another bike-ride-selfie

African Daisy's springing up everywhere.

Looking up into the new growth canopy of trees.

His crazy fun racetrack.

Buy yourself orchids. This has lasted much longer than cut flowers.

Good morning beautiful!

A Barn Swallow - taken with my iPhone.

Everything is green right now and I love it.
This is my husbands' collection of bird feeders.

Week 11

“Year by year the complexities of this spinning world grow more bewildering and so each year we need all the more to seek peace and comfort in the joyful simplicities.”

~ Woman’s Home Companion, December 1935

My joyful simplicities this week...

This boy has been extra sweet lately.
He and I read a set of "Science for Babies" board books to his sister and learned a few things.
We learned that scientists use balls to explain many things about mass, flow, gravity, physics,
and ROCKET SCIENCE. We are excited, and now he wants to "fly" rockets when he grows up.
Oh, I believe you will, Grandson, and move mountains too.

Late winter cloudscape. Always look up - especially when there are clouds.

Rite Aid ranunculus.

I see flowers, I stop and shoot.

Catching my morning light 😍

Art therapy!
This is my first attempt at Neurographic art in Procreate on my iPad.

We got some rain on the last day of winter.

One lonely dandelion in the rain.

First day of spring! I took my bike for a spin, and it didn't hurt my arthritic knee.
YES! My usual walks are not an option right now, so this is super exciting.

Sally's roses this week.

320/365

Today...

We took our bikes to the shoreline and rode on all the trails. We stopped on the Arch bridge to look for Egrets and other shorebirds, but there were none to be found due to the high king tide. It was gorgeous out there, and the sunshine felt divine.

Today...

It was a beautiful morning for a bike ride, and I needed to drop our ballots in the ballot box at our community center.

It feels like it's been months since I've ridden. First, my back protested, then my quads, and then my lungs a little. Still, it felt great to cruise around and through the neighborhoods.

After I did my civic duty, I rode on through our kids Middle and High Schools, noticing how eerily quiet they are right now. It's the middle of October, and those campuses should be bustling. So surreal.

I rode for four miles, and it was just what this body needed.
